About Dr. Pat Hudson

Pat Hudson, Ph.D. is a psychotherapist, author, and lecturer and for 21 years was the Executive Director of the Hudson Center for Brief Therapy in Omaha, Nebraska, which she founded with her father, R. Lofton Hudson, in 1975. She now serves clients in Texas.

  1992-1994

On the 50,000 watt AM station, KFAB, Dr. Hudson hosted a daily radio show called “Solutions" from 1992 to 1994. The show was presented without guests and primarily depended on Dr. Hudson’s presentation and interaction with her listeners. She has appeared on television, including two appearances on the Today Show, and radio programs around the United States, in Canada, and in Ireland.
  1998
Prima Press released her fifth book in 1998, YOU CAN GET OVER DIVORCE. Dr. Hudson has co-authored REWRITING LOVE STORIES: BRIEF MARITAL THERAPY and STOP BLAMING, START LOVING. Her book MAKING FRIENDS WITH YOU UNCONSCIOUS MIND: A USER-FRIENDLY GUIDE became a regional best seller. Norton published her fourth book, THE SOLUTION-ORIENTED WOMAN: CREATING THE LIFE YOU WANT.  For two years, she had had a column in Lifestyles Magazine and has been mentioned in Redbook, Marie Clair, Ladies Home Journal, Cosmopolitan, Woman’s Own, Brides, New Woman, and McCall’s. Her counseling center was feature in Self Magazine as one of the primary sources for Brief Therapy in the United States.

Dr. Hudson is a licensed psychologist in Nebraska (lic. no. 177 - inactive), a licensed professional counselor in Texas (lic. no. 13753), a licensed marriage and family therapist in Texas (lic. no. 5066), and a clinical member, supervisor, and fellow in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. With nearly a quarter of century of experience, Dr. Hudson’s work is rich in experience from her own life and from her clients’ and listeners’ lives. She lives in San Jose, CA with her husband, Dr. Hatcher Chalkley.
